The More You Read, The More You Learn

Why learning is important..."It is critical that a company create the kind of environment in which people really believe they can learn, grow, and prosper. The focus has to be on developing people."

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Because I feel that in the heavens above
The angels, whispering one to another,
Can find among their burning terms of love,
None so devotional as that of "Mother"...

Your Heart's Desire ~ Principal 6

Choose To Support Your Dream With Love

At this point, you are progressing to choose how you want your 'dream' to happen. This Principal is about control and action.

You must realize by now that whatever it is you want to create, it will take choices and action.
As this principal states: "Choose to Support Your Dream With Love". This means that your focus must support your dream and requires your love to make it happen.

How many times throughout the day do you want to do something or create something, but your own thoughts or actions sabotage your success? You have the power of choice. This must start and end with you.

When you choose love and enthusiasm to Your Heart's Desire, you are setting up the whole process to begin.

Don't fall into the trap of creating your dream for someone else or what you think someone else expects you to do. Do it for yourself! Somehow you should try to create a balance...fit your dreams into your life instead of sacrificing them for others.

Enthusiasm is contagious. People who work with love, attract it into their lives. Working with Enthusiasm, brings it out in others.

Choose one action each day toward your dream. If you do, you will attract all the love and enthusiasm of the Universe.

Whether you meditate or not, repeat to yourself: I choose only helpful actions and support my heart's desire. Mentally, emotionally and physically.

Inside Every Woman

I am always looking for a good book to read. Whether it be on self-improvement, inspiration or Business/Entrepreneur topics.

I found an incredible book titled, Inside Every Woman, written by Vickie L. Milazzo. Ms. Milazzo was recently listed on the Top 10 Entrepreneur List. She has dedicated her life to training and mentoring tens of thousands of women. Using her experience as an entrepreneur and business coach, she has taught women that making simple adjustments in your life can bring about positive changes.

This book reinforces that Inside Every Woman, is the strength to pursue what they want in life. You will learn how you can overcome any obstacles getting in the way of your goals, achieve what you want in your life and be successful in your career. Inside Every Woman gives you the tools to unleash the 10 forces within you.

I found as I read this book, it gave me a boost in confidence when I encountered problems faced in the early stages of my business. Reading Chapter 1 and learning the 5 promises you should make to yourself, really made me believe that as a woman, I can do anything. I realized there are strengths that I possess, but I might not tap into on a consistent basis. We need to make a commitment to ourselves over the length of our lifetime, not just today, tomorrow or next month.

I would recommend going to Vickie L. Milazzo's web site and reading the first chapter. It's FREE

Have you considered going back to school? You can advance your career or start a new one. Although it can be expensive to go back to further your education and enhance your skills, there are ways to curb those costs.

Your Heart's Desire ~ Principle 4

Eliminate Your Obstacles

Principle Number 4 is all about time. The time it is going to take from you to make it happen. What you need to do is remind yourself that your dream is important, it is valuable.

Life has a way of keeping us all busy and we sometimes feel there isn't enough hours in the day to do everything we need to get done. We sometimes forget to spend time on ourselves. It is NOT selfish to spend time on yourself! How many men and women feel guilty if they don't tend to everyone else around them before taking time for themselves?

Start realizing that it is your Divine right to love yourself and it is Divine wisdom to pursue what your soul requires. This means putting value on your needs and committing your time to fulfill them.

Eliminate Sabotage:
If you desire prosperity, then remove yourself from poverty minded people. Don't "fix" them, just remove yourself.
If someone is working against you, deny them you.
Keep a look out for energy sucking monsters: TV, phone calls that waste your time, self doubt, complaining, feeling sorry for yourself

Stay focused and be serious about your dream. Thinking is an action and can be the most powerful action when it comes to creating miracles.

Meditation

Bring your full attention on Your Heart's Desire. Is there anything holding you back or blocking your dream? Are you letting something in your life, from your past or your attitude keep you from receiving Your Heart's Desire? If so,
imagine a garbage truck coming to your house. This garbage truck is collecting everything you no longer want or need that is blocking Your Heart's Desire. Imagine the garbage truck pulling away. Ahhhh...enjoy the feeling. When you are ready, open your eyes.

Your Heart's Desire ~ Principle 3

Imagine Your Heart's Desire

You need the support of your subconscious mind to carry you into the third principle. It comes through your imagination.

Your imagination is where a dream takes place...you give it movement, color, sound and size. Like a garden, you are planting the seeds.

The idea is in your mind... the details , how you are going to do something, what you are planning. You cannot experience what you can not imagine.

Have you ever noticed someone imagining the worst case scenario, instead of something positive? What happens? They fear the worst so strongly, which in turn sets their senses and emotion going and bring what they fear right to them.

If you are someone that fears the worst, so you won't be disappointed later, you are setting yourself up twice for upset. First by the disappointment itself and second, by attracting it.

Touch whatever Your Heart's Desire is in your mind. Can you see it? What does it look like? Create Your Heart's Desire blueprint. This energy will take over your thoughts, take over your emotions and moves into your life.

In your garden of imagination , don't let the 'worry weeds' take over. Let's say you want to make money online. Your worry weed is..."yeah, but..."
yeah ,but... the competition is strong... yeah, but I don't know how...yeah, but they're all scams...yeah, but...yeah but

Pull those weeds immediately before you start believing them. Protect the imagination seeds you planted. Imagine putting a fence around your garden of Your Heart's Desire to keep the weeds from growing.

If you want something you think is impossible, imagine being surprised with something better. If your dream involves cooperation from someone, turn it over to a higher spirit by saying...bring to my dream all necessary support. Then let the universe work on it.

Feel your desire with images that will motivate you. Envision your dream as a movie in which you are the star.

Every night before you go to sleep, imagine Your Heart's Desire, upon wakening, do the same. Don't feel the need to share your dream. Save the energy for yourself.

Meditation
Find a place where you can relax. Breath deeply and then exhale. Closing your eyes.
Imagine a beautiful day with a clear blue sky
You take your packet of seeds containing Your Heart's Desire and start to plant them in your garden. What will it take for these seeds to grow? Think about more attention, more love, more commitment, more focus.
See yourself covering these seeds with the soil rich with your conscious and unconscious mind filled with Your Heart's Desire.
Now see yourself putting a fence around your garden. Protecting your garden from any weeds.
As you breath, stand back and admire your garden. Watch your dreams grow strong. See the blossoms.
When you are ready, open your eyes.

Your Heart's Desire ~ Principal 2

Gain the Support of Your Subconscious Mind

Now that you have focused on what you want to create, you can now teach yourself what you consciously desire and what you subconsciously believe. These two need to be in agreement for you to succeed.

If your attention is on your conscious desire, but your subconscious is in disbelief, there is conflict and you will not attain your goal.

If you get stuck, you can remedy this easily, by talking directly to your subconscious and tell it what you have decided to create.. Your subconscious mind only knows 'yes'...it can't argue or disagree. If you say to yourself...I want to succeed; your subconscious mind will say, yes, I want to succeed. If you say success is bad, then your subconscious mind will say, yes, success is bad. Getting the hang of it? Mixed messages will have you going in circles.

This yes machine produces exactly what you believe and what you worry about. If you want to go in the direction of love, dwell on successful examples of love. If you want to move toward health, think of pleasant images of health and balance. The same goes for whatever it is you desire. Keep focusing your attention on these ideas until you believe they are waiting for you.

What Do You Believe?
Imagine what would happen if you actually did attain your dream How good can you stand it? That's as good as it gets.

Affirmations are another way to gain the support of your subconscious mind. Saying something positive to yourself over and over. It may sound silly, but it works.
Tell your subconscious mind that negative beliefs are no longer in charge. Burn and release them and replace then with positive thoughts.

Meditation

Close your eyes and pay attention to your breath. Focus on your heart's desire. If you find any negative distractions: worries, fears or other people's opinion, pull those out of your conscious and see them being released into the air or swallowed up by the ground. Imagine your conscious and subconscious mind coming together and focus on positive. Now make a conscious decision to be receptive to positive and your heart's desire. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes.

Home Tools for the Single Woman

More and more single women are purchasing their own homes due to women becoming financially independent. After married couples, single women make up the largest group of purchasers, compared to single men who make up 9 percent of home buyers, according to a survey by National Association of Realtors.

Home ownership for a single woman, can make them feel independent, secure, boost their self worth and it is a safe way to plan for the future.

Having your own home leads to home decorating..adding your personal touch. Tackling Home improvements projects yourself not only saves money, but you feel a sense of pride doing a project and seeing the results plus you're not being dependent on someone else to do the job for you.

Are you a woman who would like to do your own home projects?
I want to suggest having your own tool box. If you're like me, I have many uses for the 'butter knife' other than spreading butter, but have since replaced that with the appropriate tools.

A general toolbox should include:
Safety glasses, gloves, hammer, hacksaw, six in one screwdriver, 25 foot tape measure, utility blade, staple gun, caulk gun, wood glue, painters' masking tape, plumbing tape, pliers, adjustable wrench, outdoor extension cord, plug in voltage tester, wire cutters, nails, screws and bolts of assorted sizes, electrical tape, level

Some power tools you should own:
Cordless drill with drill bits, electric hand sander, saw

Of course purchasing all these tools at once can be quite costly, so I recommend first purchasing a tool box and work towards filling it. One tool at a time or when you notice a sale at your favorite hardware store.

How Well Do You Communicate?

Have you ever felt communicating with someone can be difficult or challenging? or When speaking to someone, whether it be at work, home or in our personal relationships, messages can easily be misunderstood, misconstrued and mistaken for something they're not? Surely that can lead to confusion and frustration.

We have to remember people have different goals, tempers, backgrounds, perception, ideas and personal rules. I think if we keep that in the back of our minds when communicating, it will make it easier to get our point across.

A person can be successful when communicating if you have the ability to get the other person's point of view and see things from that person's angle as well as your own.

Think of how many times you've said, or heard others say: "But I thought you meant...." or "I assumed you were talking about...." or "No, you've completely misunderstood what I was saying."

These little phrases come out of our mouths daily. We're so used to saying them we don't think about the wider implications: that it sometimes requires really hard work to make ourselves clear and to get ourselves understood by others.

When someone is talking to you, listen with the intent to understand first, not impose your ideas. Once that person feels heard, he or she will be open to then listen to you.

Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to send. Most successful leaders have one thing in common...strong communication skills. They have the ability to effectively communicate and connect with all different types and kinds of people and personalities

How Do you rate?

Take this quiz to find out: COMMUNICATION TEST

Here's my score...

Snapshot Report

Insightfulness
_____________74 (out of 100)

Your results indicate that you are fairly adept at interpreting other people’s words and actions and seeing things from their perspective - although the rare misunderstanding may occur. Overall however, you seem to realize that empathy is an essential part of good interpersonal skills and therefore, will do your best to place yourself in other people’s shoes in order to better understand them. For the most part, you can sense what others are thinking and will likely adjust your behavior accordingly if a person you’re conversing with seems confused or perhaps uncomfortable. There may be the occasional time when you pay more attention to the message you’re sending rather than how it’s received. With some time and experience, you’ll likely be able to improve your insight even more.

Are You a Talker or a Doer?

As I grow older, and as I watch people, I have learned there are two basic types of people.

There are talkers. And there are doers.

Lots of people are talkers. They tell you all about what they are "going to do ." They have big plans and good intentions, but all they do is talk. They're always going to do it tomorrow. They're always going to do it later. They're always "going to do it ."

Sound like anyone you know?

Then there are the doers. They might not talk about it at all - they just go do it, then tell you about it when it's done. Regardless, they DO IT. If they say they are going to do something they do it.

No matter who you are - man, woman, teenager - the results of your whole life will depend on what you DO, not what you "talk about"!

Would you like to guess which group of people are going to be the ones that experience success in life. Success in whatever they decide to do?

You're right. The DOERS!

I learned a long time ago that important things take tremendous work and perseverance. I also learned the closer you get to the realization of that goal, the greater and more intense the obstacles become. It's as if the Universe is testing you to see how much you want it.

Here's two tips to find out if you are a 'talker' or a 'doer':
Tip #1
Write yourself a letter. Make a commitment to yourself of what you are going to DO. Make a list of your goals and put them where you'll see them.

Tip #2
Write your letter, then ask a friend to mail it to you in 2-3 months. You can put it in a self-addressed, stamped envelope they will merely slip in the mail. You'll be able to see for yourself whether you are a talker or a DOER.

Social Networking Sites

If the phrase "Social Networking site" brings to mind only giggly teenagers or finding a date, think again.

Entrepreneurs are using these sites to get advice and recommendations from other business owners. They're also finding employees, meeting potiential clients, investors and attracting customers.

These sites may offer limited marketing tools, but they are worth looking into.
You can create a profile, link to other profiles and networks. Members have a fair amount of control over how much information you want to reveal to other members.

You can post to various discussion groups, bringing attention to your company. Reconnect with past clients, business associates, or former contacts.

Thinking of starting a new company? Check out JumpUp. Created by Intuit, it offers many tools, including templates for business planning and financial calculators

If you have a business plan and looking for investors. Look at Go Big Network, which aims to connect start-ups, investors and job seekers.

Entrepreneurs wanting to broadcast their business might want to check out iKarma. Customers can rate and review services.

LinkedIn is the largest social networking site for business. Reconnect with former clients/colleagues, forge partnerships, hire new employees or attract customers.

Ryze's strength is probably as a source of advice from other business owners. It has 19 groups for entrepreneurs and 10 for small businesses which include those specifically for women entrepreneurs, start ups and even entrepreneurs with attention deficit disorder.

What Motivates the Need for Power in the Workplace?

The need is like a 'drug'. The source of this drug is 'pride'

When working for a leader who needs power for their sense of well being is a demoralizing experience.

Employees become the personal staff of the one in power when working in a power based company.

Can humility be the antidote for this drug?

Humility shouldn't be confused with weakness. Author Jim Collins calls the tension between personal humility and a fierce professional will is the best way to prevent or undo the ravages of pride.

Leaders who are characterized by humility are determined to harness the influence and authority they have been given to achieve results through hard work and innovation.

Humble leaders know their stengths and aren't afraid to use them. Also equally aware of the weaknesses and welcome feedback to stay on course and enhance their leadership

According to Kogan & Company, a leader should not be:

  • Rigid
  • Small minded
  • Insecure or defensive
  • Selfish
  • Distrustful
  • Overly malleable
  • Poor Listeners
  • Dishonest - financial dishonesty and not following through on their word given

Do you agree or disagree?
