The More You Read, The More You Learn

Why learning is important..."It is critical that a company create the kind of environment in which people really believe they can learn, grow, and prosper. The focus has to be on developing people."

Learning About File Extensions

I have never before considered myself computer savvy, but over the last two years, I sure have come a long way.

With determination, I have learned all about HTML codes, publishing websites, troubleshoot problems that surface with my computer etc, etc...I find that I do not have to ask a friend for his help as often as I once did. I can now troubleshoot a problem and fix it within a reasonable amount of time.

My new goal is to learn about file extensions. A file extension is at the end of a file name and it describes what kind of file it is. You need different applications to open files based on their file type. You may have trouble opening a file if you do not have the application necessary. Have you ever run into this problem?

I think we are all familiar with the more known types of files: jpg, doc, mp3, exe. I was having some trouble with file extension xpi. Do you know what type of file this refers to?

This extension refers to a compressed file which contains programs for opening it. It is used for downloading and installing other extensions or software components.
Mozilla and Firefox are usually associated with using these file types. If you have Windows, like me, you may have trouble opening this type of file extension unless you have the XPI software. This software can be downloaded from the Internet.

Another reason Window users may not be able to open this type of file is due to registry errors. You can go to File Extension Library, which offers a free scan to find out if you do have errors on your computer.

If you find over time, your computer is running slower and slower, this may be one of the causes. Your registry runs slow due to installing and uninstalling programs, start up tasks, corrupted drivers and so on. IF this is left unchecked, your system becomes increasingly unstable. It will run more slowly and you will find it will crash frequently.

If you have questions about any type of file extension and want the answer, go to http://file-extension-library.com. You will see straight to the point, easy to understand answers... no fluff to confuse you. If I can understand the concept behind all the many types of file extensions, you can too.

Computer Consulting Services

A couple years ago I didn't give much thought to the Internet being the way of the future. I have come to realize the Internet is the present(and future) means for not only communication, but for marketing, sales, and the potential for profits going from local to global.

If you are not familiar with all the business solutions available to you, having a good, reliable computer consulting service is key to success. There is so much to learn and implement. Custom programming, database development and search engine marketing to name a few.

When it comes to web site design, you also need a company that understands your needs, goals, is cost effective and makes your site stand out above the rest. With thousands of sites on the Internet, you want yours to be high end to attract visitors again and again.

If you hire a consulting service to help with your business development project, be sure they offer training and support, customer service solutions, search engine optimization and security for your site.

The IT company you choose, should offer products, solutions and strategies for today's fast pace technology world.

Anytime, Anywhere

A few months ago, my computer crashed. I was horrified! I thought all my hard work I saved was gone forever. These files included my business web site, files, photos and various other items. Luckily, I have access to an IT professional who was able to take my hard drive and restore most of my files.

Has this ever happened to you? If it has, you know that sinking feeling to realize you may have to recreate all your data. If you are a webmaster as I am, the thought of that is overwhelming.

Now you have options. You can have Anytime@Anywhere online backup. This company backups your files over an encrypted connection to their online backup servers. This can make a huge difference to both personal or business users. Think of the time this would save someone. What I like best about this company is that you do not need special technical knowledge or training.

Save Time & Money With USB Temperature Sensor

Our IT consultant is not stationed in our office, so when we have a temperature issue in our server room, he is only aware after an employee first realizes there is a problem and calls him. This process takes quite some time.

Temperature@lert USB Sensor with Email Alerts is the perfect solution. Being this device sends out email alerts if the ambient air temperature falls below or climbs above the range you set, our IT dept was aware before any employee. This saves time and money.

I was impressed this Temperature alert sensor is powered by the computer’s USB port, so it never needs new batteries or an AC power adapter. It is also quite affordable and very accurate.

I suggest if you have temperature issues, you try this sensor. It carries a full
30-day return policy. If you are unhappy for any reason, the company will return your purchase price (minus shipping & handling) within thirty days of purchase.
