Save Money With Foreclosure Properties

If you are looking to purchase property in today's market, one might consider buying a foreclosure property. First-time home buyers are looking into foreclosures because this is an excellent opportunity to buy a house at a lower than market-value price.

The resets of adjustable mortgages have home owners scrambling to pay their mortgage each month, which is causing foreclosures to reach an all time high. But, this could still be a win-win situation. If you approach a homeowner facing foreclosure, you can offer less than it's current market value, but still offer more than what they owe the bank.

Avoid Identity Theft ~ Part 2

Be alert to any suspicious activity by keeping a close watch on your financial accounts and billing statements.

1) Be alert to signs that require your immediate attention:
2) Bills that do not arrive as expected
3) Unexpected credit cards or account statements
4) Denials of credit for no reason
5) Calls or letters about purchases you did not make
6) Letters received from debt collectors

You are entitled to a free credit report each year. Get your free copy and inspect the information it contains.
You can go online to www.AnnualCreditReport.com. This service was created by the three nationwide credit reporting agencies and you will easily get your free copy.

How To Defend Yourself Against ID Theft

If you suspect Identity Theft you can place a 'fraud alert' on your credit reports. This alert will tell creditors to follow certain procedures before they open new accounts in your name or change anything on your existing accounts.

Three nationwide credit agencies are:
Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
Experian: 1-888-397-3742
TransUnion: 1-800-680-7289

When you place a fraud alert, this also entitles you to free copies of your credit report. Look for inquiries from companies you didn't have contact with, accounts you didn't open and debts on your accounts that you can't explain.

Close any accounts that have been tampered with or you did not open. Call the security or legal department of each company where the account was opened or changed without your knowledge. Follow up in writing

Contact ftc.gov/idtheft to support your written statements.

Ask for verification in witting that the disputed account has been closed and the fraudulent debts discharged.

Keep copies of all documents and records of conversations regarding the theft.

File a police report. The creditors involved may want proof of the crime.

Report the theft to the Federal Trade Commission. This report helps enforcement officials across the country in their investigations. 1-877-438-4338

Avoid Identity Theft~ Part 1

Having had a bout with Identity theft recently, I wanted to help prevent you from going through the same thing.
Trust me, it has been very stressful. The process in which to clear up this mess is very time consuming. It did affect my credit and cost me money. Hopefully, the road to recovery will not be a long one.

This will be a three part series on Avoiding Identity Theft.

First, it is important to know some ways this can happen. Believe it or not, there are people who are actually 'skilled' identity thieves.

1) They rummage through your garbage looking for bills or other paper that contains personal information.
2) They steal your credit and/or debit card numbers when processing a card.
3) they pretendd to be from a financial company and send you spam or pop up messages to get you to reveal your personal information.
4) They can divert your billing statements to another location by doing a 'change of address' form
5) They steal wallets, mail, bills, pre-approved credit offers, new check purchases or tax information.
6) They can steal from your employers if they have access to your records or even bribe an employee if they have access.

Some ways to prevent identity thieves from accessing your information:

1) Shred all documents. If you don't have a personal shredder...GET ONE!
2) Do not carry your social security card in your wallet or purse. Do not write your social security number on your checks.
3) Do not give out any personal information over the phone, through the mail or over the Internet unless you know who you are actually dealing with.
4) Do not click on links in spam emails. Instead, type the web url that you know. Use firewalls, spyware and virus software to protect your computer.
5) Do not use an obvious password like your birthdate, last 4 numbers of your social security number or your mother's maiden name.
6) Keep your personal information in a safe, secure place at home.

Rebuild Damaged Credit

Has your life been touched by the recent financial turmoil of the US economy? With mortgages adjusting making payments higher, there have been more delinquencies. Due to the prices of houses dropping, the chances of refinancing can be more difficult.

This all can affect your credit if due to a higher monthly mortgage, it made it harder to keep up timely on your other bills.

Have you fallen into the trap of buy now, pay later? This too can cause you to easily fall into bad credit by having a large balance and not paying on time.
There are programs available for people touched with bad credit issues.

If you are suffering from credit problems, you may want to consider having one major credit card that helps rebuild your credit while getting back on your feet. Good payment performance when reported to the credit bureaus can help rebuild damaged credit.

Choose wisely and thoroughly read through the terms and conditions. There are many programs available and a wise choice would be to compare all offers that are available and not take the first offer you come across.

Use Credit Card Search Engine For Best Offers

With the holiday season quickly approaching, many people will be rushing to do all their shopping. I believe a majority of people will use their Credit Card for purchases.

If you are without a credit card and plan to obtain one for the sole purpose of doing your holiday shopping, may I suggest you use a credit card search engine to find the best credit card for your needs. Using a search engine will provide you the benefits of comparing the many different types of offers and then deciding which card is right for you.

The choices are many: low interest, receive cash back, get airline miles credit, rewards issued on purchases, business credit cards, bad, fair or average credit cards...the list can go on and on.

By using a search engine you can view not only the many credit card offers, but view by brand: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or also by credit card issuer.

Remember to live within your means and if you can not pay your full balance off at the end of the month, just don't be late paying your credit card bill. Being late can affect your credit rating.

If you go to Bad Credit Offers, you can get all the information necessary to make an informed decision that suits you best. Know The Facts About Personal Loans

Did you realize that credit cards are really considered personal loans?

When applying for credit cards you should always be aware of the terms and conditions before you agree to open an account.

A loan can fall under two categories:

secured ~meaning money is used to purchase property and a lien in placed against it. If you fail to repay, the bank can ultimately reposes the property.

Unsecured ~ meaning money you borrow does not have a lien against property.

Your credit history determines the interest rate you pay.
Bad credit personal loans are issued if you have a blemish on your credit report. A lower credit score can result. Due to this, you may find you will pay a higher interest rate or the lender may require a down payment.

I would suggest always reviewing your credit report. You can obtain a free report with each reporting agency each year. I do this faithfully. In the past, I had found items reported that were not mine and they actually were working against me. I had no idea those items were there until I reviewed my credit report. I was easily able to remove these inaccuracies by writing to the credit reporting agency to dispute the incorrect information. Doing my own credit repair, has helped me achieve a higher credit rating, lower interest rates on future loans and less stress.

How many of you receive those special offers in the mail stating you have been pre-approved or pre-qualified to open a new credit card?
I receive at least 2 or 3 offers each week!. The offers always sound enticing, but after reading the terms and conditions, I find these cards are not suited for my needs.

It's best to shop for the best rates and terms before deciding on a particular credit card. You should also consider how you will use the card. If you know you will carry a balance from month to month, you may want to have a card that carries a lower interest rate.

If you always pay your bill in full each month, you may want a card that offers no annual fee.

At 600.net you will find all the pertinent information needed about credit cards. You want to educate yourself before deciding on that offer you received in the mail. 600.net offers information regarding the types of credit cards available to you, how they work, how to prevent fraud and even how to repair your credit.

You may want to check out the information regarding auto loans at 600.net as well.

It is to your advantage to know the facts regarding any loan before signing documents. This will save you time and money.
