The More You Read, The More You Learn

Why learning is important..."It is critical that a company create the kind of environment in which people really believe they can learn, grow, and prosper. The focus has to be on developing people."

With practice you'll come to a point of competence.
You'll find yourself accomplishing your goals gracefully
and confidently.

It's then that you'll do things that you never dreamed you could do.

You'll discover powers you never knew existed.

If you're prepared, you're able to feel confident.
There can be no great courage when there is no confidence or assurance.
Half the battle is in the conviction that you can accomplish what you undertake.

Confidence doesn't come out of nowhere.
It's the result of constant work and dedication.

De-Stress at the Beach

Although Spring is here, the weather is still crisp and chilly. I am so looking forward to the warmer weather. I usually head to the beach where I can de-stress. I lie in the sun while listening to my Ipod and just relax and clear my head. It’s hard to stress about anything while I’m doing this. The sounds of kids playing somewhere in the background, the waves crashing on shore, the smell of the salty air and cotton candy on the boardwalk just takes me away….it feels like I’m floating… not a care or worry.

I feel so refreshed and rejuvenated after the day at the beach. It’s like my mind, body and soul were just cleansed….free of any stress I had experienced during the week. There’s nothing better than a day at my favorite spot on the beach…

Where do you ‘de-stress’ ?

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift..
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Take A Break

We live such a fast paced life, don't we? Always rushing to and from work, taking care of family, chores etc etc...It seems we never have enough 'time'.

Some people are now faced with financial hardships and might even be losing their jobs caused by the current economic situation, which has created additional stress.

Here's alittle something to just sit for a few minutes and relax. Let you mind release the mental stress.

Take a break. This fun website called lets you unwind. You control the dancing marine animals playing in the calm blue waters...I don't know about you, but when I view water whether it is the ocean, bay, lake or even in a fish tank, I feel relaxed.

The idea behind Shark Break was to raise awareness of marine life conservation and ocean preservation.

So head over to and take a well deserved break. As you move your mouse side to side, up and down...the fish or dolphin or even the shark will playfully dance for you. Enjoy the scenery and take a break!

Kids and Their Relationship With The Earth

While over at, I was reading an interesting article about how you can help your child become green and understand their relationship to the earth.

Anyone with children in their home, knows how busy the household is. There never seems to be enough time in a day to do everything. In most households where both parents work it is hard to fit everything in. You come home from work and need to do chores, make dinner, take care of homework etc.., there doesn't seem to be time left over before it's bedtime and then start over. Sound familiar?

Taking a few minutes each night or on the weekends to do the below suggestions, not only will improve the quality time with your kids, but you will be creating lasting memories.

* Have your child plant a seed or help with the garden. Have your kids nurture what they planted and watch it grow.

* Appreciate the beauty that surrounds you and/or listen to what you hear in nature. Stop and listen to the birds singing, look at the rain, the geese flying overhead, the lake, the sunsets.

* Plan a meal or two with your kids. Involve them in the meal preparation. Have them pick out some ingredients. Take them on a special shopping trip to the market.

* Try to have your child spend less time watching TV, being on the Internet or playing video games. Offer other interesting alternatives. Reading a book. offered the idea of reading 50 Things Kids Can Do to Save the Earth

* Do some arts and crafts with your child. Use some old buttons and jewelry that you may have laying around.

* Have you ever had a simple conversation about the circle of life with your child? Explain nature. Why do the leaves turn colors? When do deer come out to feed?

* Feel great and be healthy. Be silly. Laugh. Dance around or sing. Do some stretching exercises.

* Make some memories by feeding the animals. Remember as a child you took the crust from the bread or the old bread mom wanted to throw away and you fed the birds? I have this memory. My grandmother and I used to hang out the window and throw the bread. We'd watch the birds hurry to eat it all.

* Get outside. Breathe the air. Do some outdoor activities. Walk the dog together.

How do you teach your children about the earth?
